The Prom-Mom's Perspectives and Ramblings...

Welcome to the PROM!

...no, not like your high-school prom (which I chose not to attend, btw)--but the beautiful promenade of motherhood, wife-dom, quarter-time working mom, three-quarter-time stay-at-home mom, etc, etc ...in a nut-shell...LIFE!
Now, I know what you're thinking...a promenade is a leisurely walk and LIFE is anything but calm. *Don't think mine is* But hey, a little self-deception is all part of keeping our sanity as mom's, right?! ;)

So, walk with me, talk with me...and if for no other reason than to put off the dreaded laundry-monster for a little while longer.
Reflect, cry, laugh, yell, agree, disagree, pray, or procrastinate...
...
...
...
(is it working?)

Go... read, subscribe through the link at the bottom and by all means, pass it along to others, cause as my mama used to always say about gatherings...

the more the merrier!

  4. “The Grasp Of Your Hand”

    by Rabindranath Tagore

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,

but to be fearless in facing them.

Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but

for the heart to conquer it.

Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved,

but hope for the patience to win my freedom.

Grant me that I may not be a coward, feeling

Your mercy in my success alone; but let me find

the grasp of Your hand in my failure.

Hayley, This is Olivia Anderson. It's Olivia Kelley now. We knew each other in high school. I stumbled across this blog...I am in tears. Not fearful ones. Inspired ones. Does that make sense? I included the poem because it also inspires me, and comforts me. I hope you find solace in it too.
Please remember something the next time you feel that empty feeling. We are all interconnected, through God, and you are so very cherished and blessed. COURAGE! <3, Olivia

  5. Mighty Oak
    Kathy J Parenteau

Stand tall oh mighty oak, for all the world to see,
your strength and undying beauty forever amazes me.
Though storm clouds hover above you,
    your branches span the sky,
in search of the radiant sunlight you
    count on to survive.
When the winds are high and restless and
you lose a limb or two,
it only makes you stronger, we
could learn so much from you.
Though generations have come and gone
    and brought about such change,
quietly you've watched them all yet still
    remained the same.
I only pray God give to me the strength he's
    given you,
to face each day with hope, whether
    skies are black or blue,
Life on earth is truly a gift
    every moment we must treasure,
it's the simple things we take for granted
    that become our ultimate pleasures.
